One of the things we enjoy most in the early evening is walking down to the beach at the end of the road for our daily fix of sunset splendour. After a really hot day, the chilled salty air and wheeling clouds of seagulls in search of the perfect roosting place for the night, are better than any tranquilliser ever manufactured.
Going ...
Going ...
Gone!
Then we walk home, enjoying the silhouettes of the fynbos sharply etched against the sky.
And without fail, we turn to each other and say "Aren't we lucky?"

Oh, you are, you are! And sensible to have chosen such a wonderful place to live.
You are so lucky, Val, to be able to do that. I have to see if our family friend's cottage is available at the beach and then drive four and a half hours to get there. I sometimes wish I could stay there permanently.
YOu are indeed. I loved visiting South Africa a few years ago and have vowed many times to retrun when funds allow.
It made me laugh too though 'cos we always say "aren't we lucky?" while out walking our pooches in our beautiful area which is the Peak District of Derbyshire, England.
Lovely pics.
